Mostly early harvested Lesotho skyf brought over the mountains on a donkeys back, aka. Jigs. Those poor bloody donkeys. You can literally see them hiking through the midlands with sacks on the backs.

Going off topic but here are some pics, having the same discussion on icmag about Durban, and its eye candy.

On DP.(& off topic again) Lesotho is where its at! I think that locals in Lesotho call it 'Matekoane'- the real deal. If ur unlucky you 'd probably end up with the lower grade or male dried stuff commonly called 'Majaja' -prob. from where we get the word Majaat. I'm from CT but I haven't yet gathered DP seeds yet. I need new connections!

My god those are gigantic trunks!!!! beeeautiful :yoinks:
BTW I like that last pic lowrider, they'd make some awesome partyfavours! haha! :rasta:

OK fair enough

but my argument is if you find your "DP" growing wildly here in Durbz how would you know it's real DP?

You have to admit that the word from the African locals that live in the areas won't be reliable in predicting strains.
There strains are JUT,SWAZI,DP,DP2,Pundo JUT (being there better JUT) they really don't know about actual genetics, they just name it according to how it looks.

To me it seems the only way would be a reliable source that knows his weed.
(just my opinion)

Well then let's just agree to disagree. It all depends on how much effort you are willing to put in, that's all I'm saying...

Shot bru. Back on topic, you from ND and said you grow in soil. Pots or in the ground? Put anything special in the mix? I use a mix of organics for africa grow medium, coco peat and worm castings. To this I add 1 tbsp per 30dm3 of each of the following, bone meal, lime, trichoderma, ecovit, mineral magic and a crushed guano tablet. Good for about a months growth without liquid nutes, depending on the strain, and has a good balance of fungi and bacteria.

Oh yeah, nowadays I also moisten the mix with a Vectobac solution to prevent fungus gnat contamination...

Ya Ive lived here my whole life, seen other places still think durbz is the shit!

I have grown outdoor previously because I never had any extra space to work with.Kinda found a sunny patch in the middle of the bush in my road.worked well and I got some nice outdoor yield.Basically planted seeds and let them grow naturally, just gave them as much water as they needed to grow and got some decent bud. Things just grow here the amount of random little bushes I see on my road near any sort of construction its amazing.

I just started my first indoor grow now,i built a room in my crawl space(tall enough to stand in  )
and the plants seem to be doing well.Have them in an organic fertilizer mix with some nice soil, nothing really special yet but I have a purifier that filter to basically R.O water and a PH of 6.8 and then adds the natural minerals back to the water.trying to find bat guano and perlite, not to keen on the liquid nutes.

I like your mix sounds like you have it fine tuned.were you buy your guano tablets?
have you got one of those worm farms?

Yeah man ND rocks! You can get perlite from Stoneage in Pinetown, high N Guano tabs from Grovida as well as worm castings and Ecovit (high P). Can hook you up some worms, I've got millions. Or you can buy some from Tropical Nursery or Giba Gorge.

Yeah man, been hunting nutes and good soil all year. There's some pics of my bins in the Worm Casts thread in Advanced Growing. Basically it's a 110litre plastic bin with 2 meat trays inside to create tiers/levels. Fill from the bottom up and when the top level is full, remove the bottom as it should be ready to use :-)
